Rochester General Hospital has been recognized as a 2011 top performing hospital.
The hospital was recognized by Premier health care alliance's national QUEST collaborative.
Premier cites the hospitals increasing delivery of recommended evidence-based care, its saving lives and its reducing cost of care as reasons for the recognition.
In a press release, Rochester General Health System CEO Mark C. Clement said the team members of the hospital are second to none.
"Our team members' relentless work to set the standard nationally is what the QUEST initiative is all about, and we are excited to be recognized as a top performer by Premier," Clement said.
Premier is a performance improvement alliance of more than 2,500 U.S. hospitals and more than 80,000 health care sites. The organization uses collaboration to help bring cost-effective, high-quality care to patients.
