The Newark Rotary Club is currently seeking donations of books to be sent to the Chetumal and Bacalar areas of Quintana Roo, in Mexico.

The books will be used to help improve the students' English language skills, which the students cannot do due to a lack of resources.

Donated books need to be of the same quality found in area public schools or libraries. They can be new or gently used, and either in hardcover or paperback. Textbooks and encyclopedias will not be accepted.

To have books picked up, contact Linda or Kurt Werts at 315-331-6999. Books can also be dropped off between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Saturdays in March at the South Main Emporium, located at 604 S. Main St., in Newark.
