The American Red Cross recently assisted two residents who were displaced by a fire at Orchard Estates in Williamson.
The fire impacted two apartments. A team of six Red Cross volunteers responded to the incident since it had the potential to affect multiple dwellings.
Red Cross assistance typically includes vouchers for temporary housing, food and clothing as needed, and disaster mental health volunteers help with the emotional aspect of disaster. Those affected will meet with caseworkers in the coming days to work on a long-term recovery plan.
