The Rotary Clubs of Wayne County will host the 18th annual Wayne County Rotary Spelling Bee at 10 a.m. Feb. 25 at the Wayne Central Performing Arts Center, 6200 Ontario Center Road, Ontario Center.
The event serves to call attention to illiteracy and to raise funds for Wayne County adult education and early childhood literacy services.
News anchor Don Alhart will serve as master of ceremonies. The top three adult and youth teams will receive prizes. The top adult team will keep the Robert Nary Traveling Trophy for one year, and the top youth team will receive a traveling trophy that will be housed at their school for one year.
A team may register three members and one alternate. Youth teams can include ages 16-19. Study materials will be sent to all registered teams.
Registration is required by Feb. 10. The $100 team registration fee will be donated to Literacy Volunteers of Wayne County.
