Applications for the 38th annual Wayne County Fair Queen/Princess Scholarship Program are being accepted through Feb. 4.
The applications are available at James A. Beneway High School, 6200 Ontario Center Road, Ontario Center; Thomas C. Armstrong Middle School, 6076 Ontario Center Road, Ontario Center; Wayne County 4-H Office, 1581 state Route 88, Newark; and online.
Wayne County residents and Wayne County 4-H members ages 13-18 as of Aug. 1 are eligible to compete for the title of Wayne County Fair Queen or Princess. Contestants will receive an opportunity to enhance their public speaking and interpersonal skills in what is considered one of the largest pageants in the tri-county area.
Applicants must attend a meeting with a parent or guardian at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 7 at Palmyra Fire Hall, 615 E. Main St. The pageant will be April 28 at Marion Elementary School.
The queen, princess and court will reign over the 162nd annual Wayne County Fair from Aug. 14 through Aug. 19 in Palmyra.
