The Pal-Mac Lions Club is an affiliate of the international service organization Lions Club International.
The mission statement of Lions Club International is “to empower volunteers to serve their communities, meet humanitarian needs, encourage peace and promote international understanding through Lions Clubs.” Our motto, “We Serve,” reflects the many ways we endeavor to improve the lives of those in need.
Lions Club International, with 46,000 clubs and 1.4 million-plus members, is the world’s largest service club organization. We are, also, one of most effective. Our members offer assistance in many ways within and beyond our communities. Everywhere we work, we make friends with children who need eyeglasses, seniors who don’t have enough to eat and people we may never meet.
Among other things, the Pal-Mac Lions Club provides vision screening for children, makes donations to local food pantries, participates in the Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign, removes litter along state Route 31 between Palmyra and Macedon, collects used eyeglasses for use around the world and a resource for fundraising is our concession trailer that is set up at area events. All profits are returned to our communities and beyond.
The Pal-Mac Lions Club welcomes new members. We meet the first and third Tuesdays in Palmyra.
