Students at Clyde-Savannah Middle School recently raised over $300 in spare change through Coins for Kids to benefit Golisano Children’s Hospital.
The money was used to purchase items from the GHS Wish List.
Sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grade students participated in Coins for Kids throughout January, a fundraiser that encourages each class to raise money to brighten the spirits of a sick child.
The activity was part of Clyde-Savannah Middle School’s ongoing CS ROCKS curriculum, designed to reinforce building-wide character expectations. Coins for Kids aligns with kindness, the “K” in CS ROCKS.
Seventh grade brought in the majority of money, raising over $200.
Curriculum coaches Christy Hout, Amanda Lyttle and Michele Nolan then delivered coloring books, small Lego sets, drawing supplies and Fisher Price toys to GHS.
