Genesee Transportation Council, the metropolitan planning organization for the Genesee-Finger Lakes region, will hold a board meeting at 8:30 a.m. March 9 at Penfield Town Hall, 3100 Atlantic Ave.

The U.S. Department of Transportation requires every metropolitan area with a population over 50,000 to have a designated MPO to qualify for receipt of federal highway and transit funds. GTC is the MPO for Genesee, Livingston, Monroe, Ontario, Orleans, Seneca, Wayne, Wyoming and Yates counties.
