The church is being converted into a performing arts center spearheaded by the Fairport Perinton Partnership for a Better Community.

Voices Raised, a contemporary Christian music group, will perform March 5 from 6-8:30 p.m. at the site of a proposed Performing Arts Center at the First Baptist Church in Fairport.

The public is invited to attend the concert at the church at 95 S. Main St. The church is currently undergoing an evolution into a performing arts center spearheaded by the Fairport Perinton Partnership for a Better Community.

“The agreement by church officials to allow FPPBC to assume control of the building and eventually ownership has opened up opportunities to host acts like Voices Raised,” according to a release.

Voices Raised formed in 2015 with Music Director Sue Viavattine and worship leaders from Saint Catherine of Siena in Mendon. Voices Raised is a contemporary vocal/instrumental worship group and performs contemporary Christian music from the likes of Kari Jobe and Francesca Battistelli as well as original compositions.
