A bus load of area citizens will go from Eastview Mall in Victor to Albany on Tuesday, March 14. The cause will be a rally to press state lawmakers for increased funding to fight Alzheimer’s disease.
People from across the state affected by Alzheimer’s will gather in the Well of the Legislative Office Building, Empire State Plaza, for the March 14 Rally to End Alzheimer’s. They will urge the governor and Legislature to increase funding for Alzheimer’s in the final budget.
Nearly 400,000 New Yorkers currently have Alzheimer’s disease and the Medicaid costs for caring for people with Alzheimer’s reached $4.2 billion in 2016, according to the Alzheimer’s Association.
