At the scene, police said the person who was rescued is considered a "person of interest."

Rochester Police say that a male was found on the bank of the Genesee River following a report of shots fired on Woodford Street in the city.

Police responded at about 11:20 a.m. Sunday for a confirmed report of shots fired. No one was reported injured as a result of the shots fired report, but after information was gathered investigators went to the river gorge, which is between the Bausch Street Bridge and Evergreen Street.

Police say that a male was found along the bank of the river. This required a water rescue, which was carried out by members of the Rochester Police Scuba Squad. The male was taken to Rochester General Hospital as a precaution.

At the scene, police said the person who was rescued is considered a "person of interest."
