Wayne senior joins Ronald McDonald All-Star Cheerleading Squad

Wayne Central High School senior Alyssa Wicks recently cheered on the Ronald McDonald All-Star Cheerleading Squad.

The Ronald McDonald Game is held each year to raise money for Ronald McDonald House by honoring and showcasing some of the best athletes in Section V.

Wicks competed in the Finger Lakes league individual competition, where she placed second and was named one of three cheerleaders to represent the Finger Lakes League.

Local residents join New York Army National Guard

Pvt. Brandon Brasfield and Pvt. Kirkland Brown recently completed training to serve the New York Army National Guard.

Brasfield, of Ontario, serves with the Company A. 2nd Battalion, 108th Infantry.

Brown, of Clyde, serves with the Company A (Distribution), 427th Brigade Support Battalion.

Brasfield and Brown were honored during a formal ceremony to celebrate their completion of the National Guard Recruit Sustainment Program, a preparatory training program that provides new recruits with training, lessons and skills to excel at their initial military training.
