Wayne County Council for the Arts, 108 W. Miller St., Newark, will present the 2017 Wayne County Middle School Art Exhibit on April 6-22.
The exhibit will highlight the artistic talent of younger artists in Wayne County.
WCCA will also exhibit “Unique Images Painted Rocks” by Norma Phelps in the Christine Fayad Members’ Gallery.
Phelps, of Marion, is a self-taught artist. She uses rocks, whether from waterfront or from a field and what people give to her. She uses acrylic paints and then seals them with interior and exterior sealer so the rocks are durable and last longer. She will design orders, provided she can find a rock that is suitable, and sells them at local craft fairs.
WCCA will host an opening reception for the exhibits from 2 to 4 p.m. April 9.
The gallery is open from noon to 3 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays and by appointment. Admission is free.
