LE ROY — Le Roy police believe a Rochester man is responsible for thefts at pharmacies in four counties.

Right now, Thomas Gilbert, age 52, is facing just one count of petit larceny in Le Roy. Officers say, on Jan. 31, he entered the Walgreens in the Genesee County village and stole multiple containers of “Alli Kit 60s" — a total value of $387.94.

On the same day, police say, it's believed Gilbert also entered a CVS store in Avon (Livingston County) and one in the City of Rochester (Monre County) and stole "Prevagen" — a supplement to help memory loss.

On March 25, police say Gilbert was involved in more thefts, stealing Prevagen from a CVS in Farmington and then a headlight lamp from the Advantage Auto Parts in Geneva, both in Ontario County.

Eventually, police say they were able to identify Gilbert as the suspect. With help from Rochester officers, Le Roy police took him into custody in the city on Sunday.

More charges are pending, say police.
