The Drama Club at East Palmyra Christian School, 2023 E. Palmyra Port Gibson Road, will present Disney’s “The Little Mermaid Jr.” at 7:15 p.m. April 28 and 3 p.m. April 29.
The school’s gym will be transformed into an ocean of coral, waves and colorful sea creatures. The cast features students in grades five through 11, many of whom are seasoned performers from past EPCS shows and other community musical groups. Director Kathy Cornwell said the students are particularly excited to do this show.
“They liked the idea from the beginning, because all of them were familiar with the Disney movie and really liked the songs,” she said.
Brooke Webb stars as Ariel with Stevie Skvarek as Prince Eric and Noah Clocksin as Triton. Cheyenne Daniels and Devon Teed play Ariel’s friends, Flounder and Scuttle; and Elijah Malach is Sebastian. Junior Kate Winslow is Ursula and works as the show’s choreographer.
The cast and crew includes Hannah Stenzel, Alexandra Girard, Leah Lockwood, Anna Szarek, Ana Van Camp, Andrea Malach, Jordan Webb, Meili Shepard, Andrew Flock, Will Andrew, Elizabeth Parker, Julia Durfee and Josh Mercer. Steve Marsille is the sound and lights manager, Kim Hatfalvi is stage manager, Patty Teed heads up set design, Kathy Hatfalvi is in charge of costumes and Luke Cornwell runs publicity.
