Andrea Knapp, of North Rose, was recently promoted to the rank of sergeant assigned to the Road Patrol as a shift supervisor at Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.
Knapp is a 13-year veteran of WCSO. She started as a correction officer in 2004 and was promoted to deputy sheriff in 2008. She was assigned to the Welfare Fraud Unit.
“Deputy Andrea Knapp’s professionalism and leadership will give her the ability to do an extraordinary job as a sergeant,” Wayne County Sheriff Barry Virts said. “Her command and ‘teaching the way’ to deputies under her supervision will be the essential function Sgt. Knapp will provide to our deputies.”
Knapp will direct, schedule, teach and supervise her assigned deputy sheriffs.
