Philip Pizzola was recently named director of radiology for Rochester Regional Health’s eastern region.
Pizzola has more than 25 years of experience in radiology management. He will oversee medical imaging operations of RRH’s eastern region, including the imaging departments and teams at Newark-Wayne Community Hospital and Clifton Springs Hospital and Clinic.
Before joining RRH, Pizzola served as director of medical imaging at Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake and worked as a radiology management consultant for New York Imaging Service for the past 10 years.
He started his radiology career as a radiologic technologist for the U.S. Army, where he served in various roles during operations Desert Shield, Desert Storm, Provide Comfort and Provide Promise. He served on a team providing the only trauma radiology services to the U.N. peacekeeping forces in the former Balkans. Pizzola ended his military career after being awarded the Meritorious Service Medal on his final tour in West Point.
Pizzola holds a bachelor’s degree in health care administration from American InterContinental University, and is nationally registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. He has a history of radiology department financial and quality development and employee mentorship.
