Lyons Heritage Society will host its Suffragette Centennial Tea Party from 2 to 4 p.m. June 10 at Grace Episcopal Parish House, 7 Phelps St., Lyons.
The event will celebrate the 100th anniversary of women’s right to vote in New York state. New York women were granted the right to vote in November 1917, three years before the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution was approved.
Attendees are encouraged to wear purple, white and gold — traditional suffragette colors — and vintage dress circa 1917. Sandwiches, desserts and teas will be served.
Tickets cost $10 and must be purchased in advance.
