Wayne County Council for the Arts, 108 W. Miller St., Newark, is accepting art pieces for its upcoming exhibit “Anything Goes!,” which will be on display June 8-July 14.
WCCA will accept traditional art pieces and salvaged gems.
Traditional pieces include paintings, photography, pottery and ceramics, collages, jewelry, metal work, mosaics, printmaking, sculpture, glass and tapestry and fibers.
Salvaged gems feature materials that are typically man-made or natural objects with non-art functions placed into an art context and presented as a work of art. The finished piece can be a collage or assemblage, incorporate painting, sculpture or other art technique.
Artists will be eligible for cash awards. Entry fees for up to three pieces cost $20 for WCCA members and $30 for nonmembers.
An opening reception will celebrate participating artists from 4 to 6 p.m. June 17. Wayne Art Gallery is open for free from noon to 3 p.m. Thursdays-Saturdays and by appointment.
