Mary Hatfalvi, of Palmyra, was named to the spring 2017 dean’s list at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. To be eligible, students must complete a set amount of work at the A level in courses and projects.

Emily Richards, of Macedon, qualified for the spring 2017 dean’s list at Belmont University. To be eligible, students must complete at least 12 hours and earn a minimum 3.5 quality GPA with no grade below a C.

Erin Straight, of Wolcott, was recently elected to University of Rochester’s chapter of Phi Beta Kappa. The honorary society recognizes students for their scholarly achievements, humanistic values and personal character.

Matthew Wetmore, of North Rose; and Kate Ostroski, of Wolcott, were named to the spring 2017 dean’s list at Bob Jones University. To be eligible, students must earn a 3.0-3.74 semester GPA. Wetmore is a junior communication major and Ostroski is a freshman nursing student.

Alyssa Rothfuss, of Marion, recently presented a project during the annual Student Research and Creative Activity Day at SUNY Oneonta. Rothfuss discussed “Mitochondrial DNA Enhances Genetic Connectivity of Economically and Culturally Important Blue Land Crab Collected in the Bahamas.”

Timothy Knapp and Ryan Tracy, of Newark; Timothy Jenkins, of North Rose; Cindi Scanlan, of Ontario; Sarahfina Wipf and Clement York, of Palmyra; Nicole Chmieleski, of Red Creek; and Meagan Jablonski, of Wolcott, recently graduated from SUNY Potsdam. Tracy and Wipf graduated magna cum laude and Chmieleski, Jablonski and Jenkins graduated cum laude.
