Rootstock Ciderworks’ rose and barrel-aged legend hard ciders recently won silver medals at the 12th annual Great Lakes International Cider and Perry Competition in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
This year’s competition featured 1,206 entries from 33 states, six Canadian provinces, England, France, Estonia, New Zealand, Spain, Ireland and Czech Republic. More than 70 judges representing amateur and commercial cider makers, beverage writers, authors and academics awarded 73 gold, 305 silver and 386 bronze medals.
“We are proud of this industry recognition and remain dedicated to crafting the highest quality ciders in the market,” said David DeFisher, founder and owner. “We grow some of the best apples here in Wayne County, and are excited to see New York state becoming known as a top cider making region of the country.”
