Western Wayne Art Group recently held its art show and sale featuring 13 of its members.
Artist and teacher Andrea Cornett served as this year’s judge.
Six artists received first-place blue ribbons: “Fertile Farm Land” by Elaine Liberio, oils; “Sun rise” by Ann M. Bavis, drawing; “Sherburne Park Road” by Dave Folts, photography; “The King Who Slays Dragon” by Sarah Morgan, 3-D mask; “Deep Rooted” by Demaris Verzulli, miscellaneous media; and “Morning Has Broken, Ontario” by John Domm, Wayne County subject.
Seven artists received judge’s choice red ribbons: “Sun Angel” by Linda Fisher, “Iris in Spring” by Jan Romeiser and “Anyone Home?” by Libero, oils; “Foggy Morning in Bullis Park, Macedon” by Marshall Hanfield, Wayne County subject; “Banana Leaves, Belize” by Diane Aldermen and “Corn Field, Hole in the Clouds” by Folts, photography; and “Silly Bird No. 1” by Barb Case, miscellaneous medium.
Fisher’s oil paintings “Sun Angel” received the town clerk’s choice and “Which Way” received the supervisor’s award. Folt’s photograph “High Acres Trees” received the Walworth-Seely Library award.
Amy Handfield, Susie Jacobs and Karen Wasserlauf won the drawings.
WWAG’s end of the year family picnic will be held June 20 at Sherburne Park, 1920 Sherburne Road, Walworth.
The group will hold its next meeting in September. WWAG typically meets from 7 to 9 p.m. the third Tuesdays of the month at Walworth Town Hall, 3600 Lorraine Drive.
