State Sen. Pam Helming, R-54th Dist., recently announced that Red Creek Free Library and Wolcott Library received state aid to support construction funds.
The funds will be used for renovation and expansion of existing spaces, modernizing and updating infrastructure and ensuring easier access for patrons with disabilities.
“Whether it is conducting research for a school project, using the internet to look for a job, participating in programs for children and teens or just having a quiet place to relax and read a book, our community members rely on local libraries every day,” Helming said. “That is why I am happy to announce these new projects, and was proud to have fought for increased aid to libraries as part of this year’s recently enacted budget.”
These funds are part of $19 million in capital funds for public library construction and broadband infrastructure projects provided in the state budget.
