Newark Rotary Club was recently recognized with awards at the annual District 7120 Conference in Erie, Pennsylvania.
Club members and and their guests attended the conference at the Ambassador Hotel and Conference Center. The conference was sponsored by the Canandaigua Rotary Club, the home club of 2016-17 Rotary 7120 District Gov. Tom Rogers.
Newark Rotary received first-place governor’s citations for its website and international project in Mexico, “Drinking Fountains for Rural Schools,” along with the Literacy Award.
Second-place recognition went toward the Conference Club Display created by Rotarian Trudy Hicks and the club’s 64.24 percent participation with the Attendance Award.
Third-place awards celebrated youth service for Family Fun Literacy Night; club service for Progressive Dinner; and vocational service for Community Readers.
An honorable mention recognized the club’s Facebook page.
Newark Rotary Club formed in 1926 and averages 100 members of all ages.
