The National Weather Service has issued a statement about a strong thunderstorm in northeastern Ontario County, located near Phelps at 5:46 p.m. and moving southeast at 10 mph. Winds in excess of 30 mph along with pea-size hail are possible, according to the NWS.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may cause localized flooding, says the NWS, which added that frequent cloud-to-ground lightning also is happening.

Locations impacted include Geneva (including Seneca Lake State Park), Clifton Springs, Phelps, Gorham, Seneca Castle, Hall, West Junius; and I-90 near Exit 42.
