The baby was injured on his back and later suffered scarring on several areas of his back, deputies reported.
A village of Newark woman has been arrested on a charge of child endangerment after deputies allege she allowed her live-in boyfriend to continue injuring an 11-month-old baby in her care without reporting the abuse to authorities.
Kaitlyn C. Brazo, 23,of 760 Apartment 2 Blue Cut Road, was arrested Monday following an investigation by Wayne County Child Protective Services. The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office alleges that Brazo’s boyfriend, Brandon L. Morris, injured the baby on two separate occasions while he was baby-sitting the child and that she never reported the injuries and allowed him to continue watching the child while she was away from home.
The baby was injured on his back and later suffered scarring on several areas of his back, deputies reported. Brazo knew Morris had caused the injuries and failed to report them or seek medical attention for the baby, deputies allege.
Morris was arrested May 12 in connection with the child’s injuries. Brazo was arraigned in the Village of Newark Court and released to reappear at a later date, while an order of protection was issued for the baby.
