Wayne County deputies allege that David M. Allen struck the inmate in retaliation for his assisting authorities in their earlier burglary investigation of Allen.

A Lyons inmate is facing additional felony charges after deputies say he struck another inmate who had assisted the investigation that led to the man’s burglary conviction.

David M. Allen, 47, was arrested Saturday and charged with assault in the second degree and intimidating a witness in the second degree in connection with the May 26 incident.

Wayne County deputies allege that Allen struck the inmate in retaliation for his assisting authorities in their earlier burglary investigation of Allen.

Allen was arraigned in the Town of Arcadia Court and returned to the Wayne County Jail without bail. He is scheduled to reappear in the Lyons Court at a later date to answer the charges.
