Police investigating possible attempted assault on an officer in Monroe County.

Brockport Police say they're investigating a possible attempted assault on an officer. Police say a 1998 Honda being driven by 25-year-old Brandon Antram was pulled over at about 12:50 a.m. Sunday morning for a loud exhaust, and that an officer approaching Antram noticed a case of “Twisted Tea,” which is an alcoholic beverage, in the passenger seat.

Police say Antram seemed to be reaching to get his registration when he put the vehicle in gear and drove off, heading west on Monroe Avenue.

According to police, the vehicle was stopped at the intersection of Monroe Avenue and Main Street, and Antram reportedly had to swing the vehicle in the direction of the officer in order to get onto Monroe Avenue. The officer was shoved back by the vehicle as a result, according to police.

Police say the officer who was hit and another officer pursued Antram on Monroe Avenue. They say Antram turned into a parking lot of the Tower of Fine Arts on Holley Street, and drove through the parking lot before striking a tree.

Police say Antram fled on foot, but was taken into custody behind 184 Erie Street. He was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital and was undergoing treatment on Sunday. Brockport Police said charges are pending due to Antram being in the hospital, but they expect Antram to be charged with DWI and other vehicle and traffic charges, in addition to criminal charges.
