H.G. Hotchkiss Peppermint Museum, 95 Water St., Lyons, will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays throughout August.
Regular and self-guided tours of the museum’s four new exhibits are available.
“Crate Making” features two mannequins dressed as mint farmers demonstrating the crate making procedure. Historically, mint farmers were hired to create the bottle crates containing mint oil in the winter that were eventually shipped all over the world.
“Celebration of the New York State Centennial of Women’s Suffrage” emphasizes Lyons connections to women’s suffrage.
“Bicentennial of the Digging of the Erie Canal” displays original vintage canal postcards and John Henry Hopkins prints of the early stages of the construction of Clinton’s Ditch.
“Lyons Currency” exhibits vintage paper and coin money.
Admission is free, and donations are accepted.
