The village of Newark, Newark Chamber of Commerce and Wayne County Farm Bureau recently hosted the Taste of Wayne County event at T. Spencer Knight Park in Newark.
Mayor Jonathan Taylor said over 800 people sampled food and beverages provided by county merchants and craft beverage industries.
“I am grateful and overwhelmed at the show of support we received from vendors, people attending and our friends from across Wayne County that came to T. Spencer Knight Park for the Taste of Wayne County,” Taylor said.
The event’s location along the Erie Canal served as tribute to its 200th anniversary. Attendees also enjoyed the VoteTilla celebration. Boats docked along Port of Newark and cruised down the canal.
“We couldn’t have asked for a better night or a better turnout for our first Taste of Wayne County event,” said Jessica Wells, president of Newark Chamber. “We had a great committee that helped put the event together and generous sponsors that made the event possible. It was great to see so many happy people.”
