The Heartland Passage Tour, a performance event that brings troubadours, performers and storytellers to venues along the Erie Canal, will stop Sept. 16 in Macedon and Sept. 19 in Lyons.
Catherine Charron, Dave Gower, Dave Ruch and George Ward will perform at 4 p.m. Sept. 16 at Lock 30 Canal Park, 1 Canal Park, Macedon. Charron and Gower will tell stories as Ruch and George Ward perform historical and traditional songs.
Charron, The Dady Brothers, Gower, George Ward and Steve Wunder will perform at 4 p.m. Sept. 19 at Ohmann Theatre, 65 William St., Lyons. The Dady Brothers will perform Irish folk ballads, and Wunder will share stories.
Both tour stops will feature a screening of “Boom and Bust: America’s Journey on the Erie Canal” by Academy Award-winning independent filmmaker Paul Wagner. The documentary explores the economic cycles along the canal that speak to the fate of the American dream.
“Boom and Bust” will premiere at 7 p.m. Sept. 16 at Canaltown Cinema, 1900 state Route 31, Macedon, and 7 p.m. Sept. 19 at Ohmann Theatre in Lyons.
Dan Ward, former curator for Erie Canal Museum and co-producer of “Boom and Bust,” will host the evening and play Stump the Dan, a trivia contest related to the canal.
The tour will travel the entire length of the Erie Canal, and visit 10 cities.
