As part of their second day of new teacher orientation, new faculty and staff attended a welcoming luncheon sponsored by Newark Central School District’s board of education at Newark High School.
Superintendent Matt Cook welcomed new staff members and introduced others attending the luncheon.
In attendance were Russ Harris, board president; Eric DeTaeye, board vice president; board members Susie Earl, Tom Ledbetter and Jim Miranda; Ed Gnau, assistant superintendent for business; Krista Lewis, assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction; four building principals; two assistant principals; district staff; Newark Mayor Jonathan Taylor; and Newark Police Chief David Christler.
New staffers went on a bus tour of Newark with Cook and other administrators after the luncheon.
