A CSX train hit a vehicle stuck on railroad tracks Saturday night in the Town of Lyons, according to the Wayne County Sheriff's Office.

According to the Sheriff's Office, deputies observed a vehicle stuck on the south set of CSX railway tracks near Leach Road around 9:55 p.m. Although CSX was warned, it was too late as an eastbound locomotive was already approaching the intersection and did not have time to stop before striking the vehicle.

The operator of the vehicle, Adam R. Porter of Waterloo, was uninjured, and his vehicle was towed from the scene.

Train traffic resumed after an inspection of the tracks.
