An Albion man is facing 20 years in prison for having child pornography.

Christopher Ridder pleaded guilty Thursday in U.S. District Court to receiving child porn. Prosecutors say a phone was found in a trash can on Main Street in Medina in 2016 at the former residence of Ridder. The person who found the phone charged it, and clicked on the Facebook application, that automatically connected to Ridder's page, investigators say. On the phone, investigators say there were also images of naked boys.

The person then turned the phone over to police. Officers found the images and also discovered Facebook Messenger conversations between Ridder and another individual about young boys.

Agents say an undercover officer then contacted Ridder on Facebook Messenger. During the conversation, they say Ridder admitted to being a pedophile. Prosecutors say he wrote to the officer, "Im a ped just like you. I know exactly how u get or feel...These laws... I hate them."

Ridder is scheduled to be sentenced on January 8.
