Two good Samaritans in Rochester saved three people from a burning house Sunday night.

Rochester fire crews say flames were shooting from the attic of a home on Raines Park off Flower City Park shortly after 11 Sunday night. Crews say three people were in the home.

Two people nearby saw the fire, knocked on the door, and were able to get everyone out safely. We spoke with one of the men who helped get the people out.

“I looked out the window and saw the flames,” said David Stemmer. “So I was running down the stairs calling 911 and got over to the house and got those people out.”

Good Samaritans save three people from house fire in Rochester. Crews say the fire was contained to the attic, but the entire home has water and smoke damage. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
