The holidays are fast approaching, and Wayne County Department of Aging and Youth is extending an invitation to community seniors for Thanksgiving dinner.
To be eligible for the $3 meal, diners must be ages 60 or older, the spouse of someone ages 60 or older and attending the meal with them, an adult disabled child living with a parent ages 60 or older and attending the meal with them or the caretaker/aide for a person ages 60 or older requiring their assistance to eat the meal.
Anyone younger than 60 that does not meet the stated eligibility guidelines must pay $4.10.
Space is limited, so reservations are required by Nov. 3. Lunch is typically served at noon. Ask each center for specific details.
Thanksgiving dinner will be served on Nov. 16. To reserve a meal, call the specific Lunch Club 60 Center.
The menu includes turkey with gravy, mashed potatoes, stuffing, spinach and squash, cranberry sauce, a roll, pie and a choice of 2 percent or skim milk.
Wayne County residents can select among six Lunch Club 60 centers: United Methodist Church, 84 Sodus St., Clyde; Emmanuel Methodist Church, 301 E. Miller St., Newark; Brown Square Village Apartments, 2100 Brown Square, Ontario; Village Park and Club Rooms, 149 E. Main St., Palmyra; 47 Maple St., Sodus; and Faith United Methodist Church, 12223 Oswego St., Wolcott.
