Crews have been working to restore power due to downed trees and power lines after wind gusts of more than 60 mph in some areas.

More than 24,000 area customers lost power after a windstorm hit the region Sunday. Rochester Gas and Electric reported power outages in all of its eight area counties.

As of Sunday evening there were 21,823 without power including 14,543 in Monroe County; 1,505 in Ontario and 3,615 in Wayne County.

It is not known yet how many are still without power this Monday morning.
