The Yankees won decisively in game five of the American League Championship Series Wednesday night. And there are likely few people happier than a 7-year old boy from Canandaigua. He was there in the stands because his dad surprised him with tickets to game five. The moment was magic.

The video posted on Facebook shows 7-year old Declan Cooney standing in stunned silence as his father tells him he has a surprise.

"We're going to game 5!” Mike Cooney told his son, his own voice trembling with emotion.

“We are? We're going to New York City?” Declan asked incredulously.

For the 7-year old super fan that Daddy declaration was like winning the lotto. Declan wrapped his arms around his father and cried. To understand just how much this meant to Declan Cooney, you have to know Declan Cooney. This Canandaigua kiddo loves sports. He plays sports, breathes sports, eats sports, and even shaves the numbers of his favorite professional athletes in his head.

But he reserves a special place in his second grade old soul for his beloved Yankees. And game five was perfect - perfect weather, perfect seats, perfect time with his perfect pop. He didn't think it could get any better. And then his hero, Aaron Judge, hit a homerun at batting practice. And a security guard tossed him the ball as a souvenir. As Declan and his father left the stadium after the game, basked in the joy of the Yankees win, a reporter from WNBC in New York City interviewed Declan and his dad.

The photographer got video of the number 99, Aaron Judge’s number, shaved in Declan’s head.

"First post season game. Amazing experience for us," Mike told the reporter.

Amazing indeed. Declan and his dad watched themselves on TV in their hotel room – tired but thrilled about the time they’d shared. Declan, Daddy and their perfect day. And the best part of it all?

"That the Yankees won!" Declan said grinning.
