Parents and students have an opportunity to learn about the programs Finger Lakes Community College offers, meet current students and learn how to navigate the application and financial aid process
The Finger Lakes Community College main campus in Canandaigua will host an open house on Saturday, Nov. 11, for high schoolers and their families who want to learn more about FLCC programs and financial aid.
“While many students have Nov. 10 off school, we know that many parents still have to work,” said Bonnie Ritts, FLCC director of admissions. “We are holding a Saturday event so that more parents can accompany their high schoolers without having to take time off,”.
Fall Visit Day will start at 8:50 a.m. with a continental breakfast and connections fair at the main campus, 3325 Marvin Sands Drive, off Lakeshore Drive. The informal event is an opportunity for students to meet professors and college staff and get answers to specific questions.
From 9:20 to 11:10 a.m., the college is offering three information sessions, each with five topics from which students and their families can choose. Sessions include a panel discussion with current FLCC students and cover how to apply for admission and financial aid, academic support services, transferring, help selecting a major, athletics, honors studies and study abroad.
General tours of the main campus and specialized tours of the fine arts and music recording facilities are also available.
Students should register online by Nov. 9 on the college website at flcc.edu. For questions, call the Admissions Office at (585) 785-1278 or email to email@example.com.
