Wayne County soldiers re-enlist with New York Army National Guard

Sgt. Jason Allen, of Williamson, and Staff Sgt. Michael Mack, of Red Creek, recently re-enlisted to continue service in the New York Army National Guard.

Allen serves with the Company B, 3-126th Aviation. Mack will continue service with the Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 102nd Military Police Battalion.

"New Yorkers count on our citizen soldiers to be ready and be there when disaster strikes, and our nation counts on our soldiers when duty calls for overseas service,” Maj. Gen. Anthony German said. “I congratulate our members for choosing to stay in service and striking that balance between military duties, education or employment commitments and family obligations."


Pal-Mac student-athletes earn top honors

Student-athletes at Palmyra-Macedon High School recently earned top honors in fall competition.

Rachel Mayou earned first place in the 200 yard swim and 500 yard swim. Lauren Miller earned second place in diving. Olivia Keller and Alex Wahl received Finger Lakes East Player of the Year awards in soccer. Keller was named a 10NBC Scholar Athlete. Boys soccer coach Chris Manhke earned Finger Lakes East and Section 5 Coach of the Year, and girls soccer coach Mike Karns received Section V Class B Coach of the Year.

Pal-Mac’s scholar athlete teams for fall 2017 are girls swimming and diving, 94.27; girls soccer, 94.12; girls tennis, 93.496; girls cross country, 93.39; boys soccer, 93.138; girls volleyball, 93.02; golf, 91.76; and fall cheerleading, 90.42.


Macedon resident joins Cobblestone Capital Advisors

Donna Bruno, of Macedon, recently joined Cobblestone Capital Advisors LLC as its receptionist.

Bruno received an Associate of Science degree from Monroe Community College. She previously served as office manager for YMCA of Greater Rochester’s Camp Arrowhead.
