A proposal to bring a Whole Foods to Brighton will have to jump yet another hurdle. A state lawmaker is now speaking out against the project.

State Assembly Majority Leader Joe Morelle says he cannot support the project as is. In a letter sent to neighbors, Morelle says he's not opposed to development, but he believes the Whole Foods proposal is too large and will impact traffic in the already congested area.

Traffic concerns by neighbors have already stalled the plan to bring the supermarket to Monroe Avenue. Whole Foods said it's still committed to Brighton.
