A motorist suffered minor injuries resulting from a three-vehicle accident Tuesday morning in the town of Palmyra.
According to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, James I. Depoint was driving east on Route 31 at about 8:22 a.m. Dec. 12 when he lost control on the snow-covered roadway and crossed into the westbound lane, striking the driver’s side of a westbound vehicle. Depoint’s vehicle spun around, and another westbound vehicle struck the rear of his vehicle. Depoint’s vehicle then struck a mailbox and came to rest in a yard on the north side of the road.
Depoint was transported by Finger Lakes Ambulance to be treated at Newark-Wayne Community Hospital for minor abrasions to his face. Neither of the other operators was injured. Depoint was ticketed with failure to keep right.
The Palmyra, East Palmyra and Port Gibson fire departments assisted at the scene.
