Winter Storm Warning continues for Monroe and Wayne Counties

A Winter Storm Warning continues for Monroe and Wayne counties including the City of Rochester through Wednesday evening. Elsewhere a Lake Snow Warning remains in effect for Wyoming County and a Winter Weather Advisory for Genesee and Orleans Counties.

For the remainder of the day on Wednesday we will see temperatures that will struggle to escape the teens. With gusty winds out of the west wind chills will be negative at times.

Wednesday and Thursday a blustery northwest wind will continue to bring additional lake snow showers to the area on and off. A storm system will bring the next round of snow to the region Wednesday into Thursday. This snow that we will receive Wednesday night will be more widespread than the lake effect snow we got this morning. Snow totals should just be a few inches.

A few lake effect snow bands can be expected late Thursday and early on Friday, and another clipper system could impact our area as early as Friday night, bringing the potential for more snowfall and then lake effect snow showers over the weekend. It could transition to a wintry mix by early next week before colder air returns again with more snow chances next week.
