Friends of the Newark Public Library, 121 High St., will discuss “The Ten Thousand Things: Adventures and Misadventures on China’s Silk Road” by Tenney Brooks Tenney during its book review luncheon at noon on Jan. 12.
Tenney has written for a weekly newspaper in upstate New York for the last 20 years. He travels when opportunity permits, the most recent being Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Turkey. He tries to mend his interests in history, geography and politics in his writing.
Fred and Trudy Hicks teamed to entertain those who attended the December 2017 luncheon that examined “Susan B. Anthony: A Biography of a Singular Feminist” by Kathleen Barry. Trudy Hicks portrayed Susan B. Anthony, and Fred Hicks served as the narrator.
