During this time of year there is so much to be thankful for, but it’s very easy to eat too much and exercise too little. People of all ages, shapes, sizes and abilities can benefit from a physically active lifestyle. Finding time for physical activity can be a challenge, but one that can be overcome with some planning and creativity.
Here are some tips for staying active during the busy holiday season.
Plan for active time during your holiday celebrations. It will make everyone feel good. Dancing, moving and playing active games add fun to any gathering.
When you’re out running errands, take the stairs instead of the elevator. Park further away and walk to your destination.
Bundle up and get outside. Try sledding, skating or playing games in the snow.
By committing to increasing your physical activity, you will not only “add years to your life, but life to your years.”
