Police say 38-year-old Jason Arnold fled from NYS Parole and the East Rochester Police Department in his Mercedes Benz in East Rochester. While fleeing, Arnold struck an ER police vehicle before driving off into Penfield. He then crashed his car and a brief foot chase ensued before he was taken into custody.

A parole absconder is in custody after crashing his car and fleeing police late Monday night.

At around 11 p.m., 38-year-old Jason Arnold fled from NYS Parole and the East Rochester Police Department in his Mercedes Benz in East Rochester. While fleeing, Arnold struck an East Rochester Police vehicle.

Deputies say Arnold then drove northbound on Panorama Trail and into Penfield. In the area of Panorama Trail and Rt. 441, Arnold drove off the road, and crashed his car in a ditch. Deputies found the vehicle, and discovered that Arnold had fled the scene on foot.

Law enforcement agencies set up a perimeter and within minutes, Arnold was seen about a quarter of a mile from the crash, running on foot in the area of 700 Panorama Trail. Police say a brief foot chase ensued before Arnold was taken into custody without incident.

No one was injured during the incident.
