The report, citing "people familiar with that situation", says that Tops could seek court protection from creditors as soon as this month. Bloomberg also reported that southern supermarket chain Winn-Dixie is also preparing to file for bankruptcy. Both bankruptcies would be "a sign of the mounting pressures in the grocery industry," according to Bloomberg.
