The United Way is about people helping people and making a positive impact across the entire community. The annual campaign coordinates a collective effort of many to do the most good for the local community.
The annual United Way campaign raises funds to support local programs that work to make the community better through individual and corporate donations and workplace giving programs.
United Way of Wayne County named Bob and Leslie Ohmann as honorary campaign chairmen to help achieve this goal, and is emphasizing the role volunteer leaders play in the success of the campaign and the United Way mission.
The Ohmanns look forward to doing what they can to bring awareness about the campaign, and encourage others to join them in supporting the United Way.
“We recognize the impact of the United Way here in Wayne County,” they said. “There are many organizations that simply would not be able to provide the necessary services for the members of our communities without the assistance of the United Way. We are excited for the launch of the 2018 campaign, and view it as a privilege to be ambassadors for the United Way of Wayne County.”
Donations to the United Way of Wayne County Community Fund stay local. Funds help neighbors put food on the table, reduce the risk of child abuse and neglect to reach success in school and life, provide a safe shelter for domestic violence victims to stabilize their lives, help people with emergency basic needs to avoid long-term hardships and supply needed tools for all ages to achieve better mental and physical health to thrive.
The campaign will run through May. Visit uwwaynecounty.org for information.
