While power has been restored to most customers, downed wires remain a hazard.

NYSEG and RG&E utility companies warned customers that nearly 2,000 downed wires resulted from Friday’s big snow storm. Customers are urged to stay away from downed wires.

More than 2,000 personnel are responding with crews and contractors including those from assisting utilities out of Maine, Connecticut and Canada expected to continue work on restoration efforts until all customers are restored. As of Sunday morning,more than 117,000 of the 188,000 customers who had experienced outages had been restored.

Pockets of outages remained in certain areas including in the towns of Naples, Italy, Springwater and Victor.

To report downed power lines or other hazardous situations, NYSEG customers should call 1.800.572.1131 and RG&E customers are asked to call 1.800.743.1701.
