Officials say the driver who struck the troopers and tow truck operators, Christopher Neumann, 26, of Castleton was also injured in the crash. He was treated at Albany Medical Center, then arrested.

State police say a drunk driver hit two troopers and two tow truck operators Sunday morning on Interstate 90 near Albany.

According to our news partner, News10NBC's sister station WNYT, Troopers Brent Karow and Shane Swartz were seriously injured when the driver of a car rammed into them early Sunday morning as they waited for a car to be removed from the median.

Officials say the driver who struck the troopers and tow truck operators, Christopher Neumann, 26, of Castleton was also injured in the crash. He was treated at Albany Medical Center, then arrested.

State police charged Neumann with first-degree vehicular assault, driving while intoxicated and numerous other vehicle and traffic law violations.

Troopers Swartz and Karow are in serious condition at the Albany Medical Center.
